The Friends of Aslacton School
The Friends play an important role in organising a programme of events throughout the year which are fun and also raise much needed funds for the school. The funds enable us to give the children extra treats, such as trips to the theatre and whole school summer trips, but also to supplement the facilities and equipment available to them in school, which it would otherwise not be possible for the school to provide.
All parents are invited to take part in Friends’ activities. There is a yearly AGM where committee members are elected. Fresh faces and new ideas are always welcomed and any interested parents can join the committee.
The Friends have a very exciting programme of fundraising activities planned for the rest of the year. The next few events are as follows:
Wednesday 20th November – The Friends are very kindly paying for a performance visit from the Puppet Theatre of their Christmas show ‘Hansel and Gretel’ as a pre-Christmas treat for all the children. They will also provide a drink for each child during the performance.
Friday 29th November – this will be a non-uniform day – instead of a financial donation we are asking for food and drink items to be donated to enable us to put together a Christmas Hamper for our Christmas raffle. Tickets will be on sale shortly after this date and at the Christmas productions, with the draw being on 13th December. Items for this can be handed directly to the office (especially if they are breakable/delicate).
