I am writing to give parents and carers updates on a few things.
Start of the Spring Term 2 Arrangements
Spring Term 2 will begin for students on Monday 24 February 2020.
Assistance needed with SATS Are you available w/c 16.03.20 and 11.05.20 during the morning, to give up some time to help our Year 6 pupils? Let us know as we really need some adults to assist us in SATS administration eg scribes, readers, supervisors etc. Full training will be provided!! Contact the Main Office if you are able to assist us with this.
Attendance – Are you fit for school?
Building resilience in our young people is one of the keys to their future success. If your child has the following minor illnesses, then we consider them well enough to be in school: cold, cough, sniffles, headache, stomach-ache, tiredness or feeling sick. If your child’s ailments worsen throughout the school day, we will contact you and look after them until you arrive to collect. Our attendance for the Spring Term to date is 96.3% (year to date is 96.4%) and is still below the Academy expectations. Let’s challenge ourselves to be nearer 100% for the rest of Academic Year 2019-2020. Thank you for your continued support in this matter.
We would like to remind you that Breakfast Club will still be running every weekday morning, starting promptly at 08.00 until 08.40. Pupils have access to breakfast and can participate in a range of activities. If pupils don’t already, why don’t you encourage them to give it a try!
If you still need to be set up with WisePay, contact Mrs Watts after half-term, via the Reception, for your log on details.
Cash payment for Lunches
We no longer have a till in the canteen for children to make lunch payments. Money sent in to school for your child’s lunch is added to their account in the Reception. If your child has change it will be added to their account for safe keeping unless requested otherwise. These balances will soon be made available for parents to view.
A Big Thank you!
I am pleased to announce that together we have managed to raise the following: Book Week Dressing Up Fundraiser on 04.02.20 for Information Books in the library – raised £75.50
Thank you so much for your support in these activities, greatly appreciated. A big thank you to the Friends of Wayland Junior Team, who are working tirelessly behind the scenes to fundraise.
As always, I would like to thank every one of you for your continuous support of the Academy. We should again feel proud of what we have achieved as a community look forward with confidence to even further success. On behalf of the staff and pupils, I would like to wish you all a Happy Valentine’s Day and hope you all have a great half-term.
